Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

RS Aero Open September 2020

We enjoyed an almost perfect day with a good breeze of around 10kn gusting 16kn and sunshine all the way for our first RS Aero open meeting at Burton Sailing Club. The event was due to form part of a newly formed Midland series but Covid-19 had other plans! Congratulations to Craig Williamson of Staunton Harold SC, taking first place overall with 3 bullets using the 7 rig and to Chris Larr of Northampton SC, finishing second overall using the 9 rig. Supernova Inland Championships 2020

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that helped out over the weekend for our first major event since reopening the club. The event was a huge success and very well received by the visiting Supernova class association. Bart's Bash 2020

On Sunday 13th September, the club will again be participating in 'Barts Bash' a one off handicap race starting at 11am. It would be fantastic to have a bumper turnout for the event. The race is usually well supported and great fun. Club sailors of all abilities and ages are encouraged to come along and take part. The race is free to enter but we will have a collection pot in the bar after the race for anyone that would like to offer a donation to this very worthy charity. RYA 'Start Windsurfing' Course returns in style!

This weekend provided perfect conditions for the first day of our ‘start windsurfing' beginners course. There were lots of safety measures in place and some very careful planning required to ensure this could happen... Thanks to all involved! To those that know her, it may come as no surprise that BSC’s Nieve Ball has been selected as one of three finalists for this years Panerai Challenger Trophy. Nieve has achieved a great deal in such a short space of time. Through her commitment, hard work, dedication and the support of all around her she has grown so much and is a great ambassador for the club, for windsurfing and for young girls in sport in general.
