Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Discover sailing this summer

Discover or re-discover sailing this summer at Burton Sailing Club. New members aged 8-88 of all abilities are most welcome. You dont need to be an experienced sailor as we offer sailing and windsurfing courses for complete beginners where you can discover all you need to know to get you out on the water. For those with some experience we can help to get you back on the water to rebuild your confidence either on your own or as crew to a more experienced helm. Club sailing will resume on Saturday 3rd April. All subscribing members should have received an email with essential details of what to expect when the club reopens, along with our outline plans for the coming season. 2021 Membership now available

We would like to say a huge 'THANK YOU' to all of our members for your support, patience and cooperation during a very volatile 2020. Despite it being a very difficult year on the water, membership numbers have continued to rise and on the whole the club has maintained a very friendly and enjoyable atmosphere this summer. As you are all fully aware, the country remains in a period of lockdown at the moment but we hope to return to our regular sailing activities  on Saturday 5th December. Well done to all of the junior windsurfers taking part in the regional junior windsurfing championships at Burton Sailing Club on Saturday. In a year that has hampered the usual vibrant junior windsurfing scene with so many competitions cancelled, it was great to finally be able to get out on the water for some competitive sailing. Arthur George Memorial Trophy

Club members old and new are invited to come along and join us for this years, Arthur George memorial Trophy, on Sunday 27th September 2020. Due to the finale of the Ok Inland championships taking place in the morning, this years race will feature an afternoon start starting around 2pm. Arthur loved a good pursuit race and so should you. A bumper turnout is expected and some great fun on the water.
