New members always welcome!

Come and join our friendly sailing club here at Foremark reservoir in beautiful South Derbyshire. New members whether individuals or families are assured a warm welcome whatever their level of sailing ability.

Burton Sailing club has exclusive sailing rights at Foremark reservoir with sailing activity taking place in five main areas:

  • Dinghy Racing
  • Windsurfing
  • Foiling
  • Casual sailing
  • Stand up Paddle boarding

Club racing takes place primarily on Sundays and Wednesday evenings as laid out in the racing calendar. For these times the club organises a duty officer rota. The duty officers manage the day's racing and provide safety cover.

Our popular social sailing, windsurfing club and youth academy run regularly throughout the summer on a Friday evening, usually followed by a BBQ and a drink in the bar!

Non members are welcome to visit the club and are permitted to sail their own dingies/sailboards or SUP's by prior arrangement. Day sailing permits should be purchased by email via the club secretary This email address is being protected from spambots. The  Sunday racing calendar runs from March to December, with races starting at 11:00AM. There are four races a day (Two before Lunch and two in the afternoon) Sunday racing  is further divided into a number of race series, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter with stand alone Super Sunday 'Trophy' race days interspersed. Our Wednesday evening racing calendar runs from April to September with two races starting at 6.30PM. Click here for details of our club racing

The club organises training for the general public as well as for club members. RYA qualified club members run the courses and the club is always looking for more members to help out in this activity. Members are actively encouraged to obtain suitable RYA qualifications to strengthen the dedicated pool of trainers the club already has. The types of training available to club members is much wider and more advanced than that of the beginners courses normally offered to the general public. Find out more about our courses here
