Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

More information about the activities we offer, and membership, is given via the tabs above, and the latest news from the club is given below. We hope you enjoy reading about our club, and come and visit us at Foremark soon!

Communication... How to stay up to date with the latest club news

Written by

Keeping up to date with the latest club news has never been easier.

Email:

All 'Essential' club information and notices are communicated to all club members by email, via 'Mailchimp'. Every club member should receive these emails, however if for some reason, you dont believe that you are receiving them, you can request that your email address be added to the list Here. On occasion, these emails may go in your 'junk' file so please check there first.

Website 'Latest News' and 'Calendar':

The opening page on this website shows the 'latest news.' Information and links to training courses along with general updates of what's happening at the club are posted here. The Calendar offers an 'at a glance' view of everything that is happening on the water.

Website Discussion Board:

This is available to all club members via the members area of this website Here and is a useful tool for general discussion/advice or if you are looking for someone to swap duties with. Response can be a little slow but this is still however a usefull method of communication.

Whats App:

We have a very popular club Whats App group available to all. This is by far the most common and easiest way to keep in touch and up to date with all things club related. Response is usually immediate although not everyone at the club is involved, many are. If you are not in the chat group and wish to be added, please see either Martin Nelson or Carl Avery.

There are also a few 'splinter' Whats app groups if you are  interested in a particular topic such as 'Windsurfing' 'Fleet news' or 'open event racing' These will keep you up to date with that particular group but will not inform you of general club news.

Social Media:

We have a very active 'Facebook' page which is updated regularly with the latest news, photographs and topics of general interest. If you use Facebook and would like to see 'Burton Sailing Club' in your news feed, then visit and 'like' our page Here

We also have a lesser used Burton Sailing Club 'Group' page as well as Instagram and Twitter accounts which can be found on social media.

Club Notice Board:

Details of Club membership, boat hire, general news and events can also be found on the club noticeboard situated in the clubhouse.
