Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website
We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.
We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Saturday - a great day for all the family
We’ll light the Barbie at 12pm and keep the food stacked through till about 3
Summer garden games on the lawn including swing-ball and a penalty shoot-out!
Fun sailing (starting around 1pm) to include:
The Topper/Pico relay race
Capture the flag
And the now famous ‘battle of Trafalgar’ water fight!
(bring your water pistols and water balloons!)
We’ll settle down for an evening of entertainment with a live band from around 8pm, a fully stocked bar providing your every refreshment and a mouth watering hog-roast!
Free camping on site will cure those drink driving woes and with the prospect of a free breakfast for all that camp over, a night under canvas has never been so tempting!
Sunday - a fun day of racing
The prestigious Commodore’s Cup!
A three race series including:
Ernie Hewkin Pursuit Race starting at 11am
followed by 2 General Handicap races with all three
races counting towards the day’s series (and the
summer series). The boat with the least amount of points over the three races wins the Commodore’s Cup for 2017!
Prizes also for 1st Junior and first Lady!

Mickelover Golf Club
Three course meal, followed by after dinner tea/coffee. Menu choices are below. (More vegetarian options available on request.) £16 per person. (Children under 14 go half price for half portions.)
As usual we will need to know numbers and ask for payment before the event. (Please let us have your menu choices by Feb 14th.)
The meal will be followed by the full 2015 series prize-giving, including discretionary prizes such as “service to club” and the coveted “capsize trophy”.
